Sneak Peak and a Lil Fun

Daddy and Lil E have been busy working on the car, when we are actually home! We have spent a lot of time away lately. Between looking for a new place to live and being away with family.

Anyway, Daddy was driving Mommy's car one night, and he hit something on the highway! Of course it damaged the front bumper cover and the piece under... All the sudden it got worse, (Dragging and the crack is now fully busted!) and Mommy had to go Redneck, and DUCT tape the car! (I, Mommy, was a full hour from home!) So I ran into Wal Mart to get some duct tape, and now that there are so many colors to offer, was looking for black! But NO, it was a shiny silver chrome like color, bright colors, a really ugly camo (looked like a bad photo shop project), traditional grey, or this fashionable cheetah print! So since no matter what was bought, it was going to show up, it was decided (by mommy and her friend) to be the most fashionable with the cheetah! Now purple was a close 2nd, because it could have been used for the race car next year!

After we got home, I decide, that since Daddy hurt Mommy's car, how about going ahead and numbering his car for him!!! You guessed it, with my new cheetah duct tape!!!!!!!!!!

Even Lil E helped me!!!!!

So there you go, our number!!!! Mommy was able to pick the number, and it is the reversed number of my all time favorite Dirt Track Racer, the late Eldon Dotson (The Dirt Track Cowboy)! Since he ran 72, I just didn't' want to run that number, so we decided to reverse it!

Until next time, keep racin'!

Hard at Work

It's August and we have been hard at work the last couple of week! We are taking 2 cars to make one for us to race next year! We have spent the last 2 weekends, totally hard at work! Gutting the one! Well, Daddy and Lil E have been so busy!!! Mommy and been busy taking care of Lil K and doing other stuff! But they sure have had a lot of daddy and daughter time!

The night the car got home!!!

Last weekend, here they are at work!

And then these were from Sunday (yesterday)! Lil E looks so forward to working on the race car! And asks every day if it's time to go out and work on the race car! She can't get enough!!!

She was all dirty, but dirt is good for ya!!! Did you know that? And she will make sure she is finding something to do!

With all the fun, we hope the girls learn much more from racing, just like their momma did! I pray it teaches them the things it taught me, like hard work, dedication, loyalty, determination, how to cope with frustration, not to ever give up, to try harder, a good healthy kind of self pride, self esteem, good sportsmanship (ok, mommy has to still work on this a bit), how to follow directions, to work together, about good times and hard times, and even bad times, about problem solving, and proving the need for math, science, and much more! And how you can do all this and keep your faith, being led by the GREATEST Crew Chief of all, Our Heavenly Father!!! And I pray that both girls learn this!

Until next time, Keep Racin'!

WOW!!!!! We have a car!!!!

I can't believe it! We actually have a car!!! We decided that here at DTR we would go racing 3 years ago! Then life happened, we grew our family, weathered a lay off, and now things are back to good and we are getting it together! We had the motor and it was waiting on a car! We started our search at the new year, and man did it bring about lots of chaos! Everything was really up in price this year! (I say everything, meaning the lower classes). I guess the situation our economy is in, more and more are stepping down a class, just to still be able to run! So we found it harder to find a car in the price range we were willing to spend! We have had much talk about running at one track or the other! I really wasn't sure about the "other"other track........

So a couple of weeks ago, we stopped by there on a spur of the moment decision, while driving home! OH MY! I don't know what to say! THe facilities are nice, but it's a small track in size, and the car count was smaller!!! I coudln't believe it!!!! Below is a picture of the girls chilling out in the stands!

So new it was way likely for us to start at the "other" track! It really will be a great learning track! James will be able to learn to watch the flagman, watch the lights, and how to handle a car before crashing himself or others!

Below you can see the car, as we got it!!!! Yes I know it's a site!

Add Image
Lil E even wants to know why Daddy has a beat up race car! That girl is a mess!!!

We do have clean body for the car too! So we will be having to paint it and get it ready!

We do plan to stay with the original color scheme of black, purple, and light grey/ silver! I'm really really excited!!!!! James is like a kid in the largest candy store out there!!!!
Stay tuned for more racing stuff as we have things to update ya with!!!!
Until then, keep racin'!
