Amarillo bound ~ Route 66 again!

What a beautiful track!! Still in awl of this state of art dirt track!!! It's trully a wonderful place! First off we must say, it's nice to be at a track that believes in God first, and promotes a wonderful family atmosphere! They even have a family area that is free of adult beverages! Cars and Drivers promote God and Jesus Christ! It is trully a wonderful place. For the most part there is very clean driving! Great racing! They have zero tolerance for BS (in their words). Their help the community, their 50/50 goes to the Ronald Mc Donald Home instead of to the drivers!

They run the smoothest show ever! And they know what a red flag is, as well as a black flag! And we gotta add just how impressed we are with the fact the drivers pull together and help each other out, not just their friends and buddies. Hands down, Route 66 Motor Speedway is by far the best track!!! This will be our home track! And Lil E knew the difference. She loves going "Anawillow" (Amarillo), but didn't have this passion in OKlahoma! See yall at Route 66!

Disappointment

June 23 ~ Lawton Speedway ~ Lawton, Oklahoma ~

Our drive there was beautiful! But other than that, it was not a very impressive trip. Started out with questionable rain in the forecast so we debated even making the trip! However we did and I am glad we did. Coming from one of my home tracks being Devils Bowl Speedway, I did expect more out of Lawton.

I was totally dissatisfied! The bleachers aren't nice and kids can fall through very easy! So needless to say we were nervous and ended up at the bottom of the bleachers. The gab between them is HUGE!

Their program includes 360 / Champ Sprints, such a dangerous class, and yet they still didn't have any kind of prayer before starting the event! It is trully an entirely different class of people there and not for us! Driving style was even much rougher! Just all around, not a pleasant experience!

This was very clear to us, this not a place for us, nor do we want to race here! Still amazed though! Never dreamed it would be so different!!!
