For Father's Day, we went to check out the facilities at Route 66 Motor Speedway in Amarillo, TX. From our years at the tracks, this is by far the nicest facility and the smoothest ran show! It is a full 2 hour drive each way for us, but hey, it's just time. And we all know Momma will be sleeping on her way home! Lil E was in love with the races!! Even more than before! She watched in full amazement and didn't take her eyes off! Now she did cry, and do you want to know what for........ Because she wanted in the cars! Our lil racer!!! How awesome is that!!! The Facility ~ the people are clean! The bleachers are nice and not falling apart! I saw more families than I do at most tracks! It was really wonderful!!!The Track ~ WOW! It was prepared and was perfect! Could not have asked for a better track! Not sloppy wet rutty muddy, and not your summer dry slick either! It was the way it should be! The cars ~ They are FAST! Whew! They run Street Stocks, Super Stocks, Cyclones, and Modifieds. Well their street stocks aren't like street stocks back home, guys they are more like a eco late model or hot stock! The cyclones are like the street stocks back home! And the mods were bad! The A main's winner was this 17 year old kid who was BAD! He lapped like 7 cars! Just super fast!

Modifieds
Street StocksAnd guess what, there are several girl racers!!! WOO HOO!!!! We will be going back again this coming weekend, and another couple of times before the Season ends. We plan to check out Elk City Speedway and Lawton Speedway both in Oklahoma, as well. It will be a hard for either of these to compete with Route 66 though for our home track!
It's time to vote for the IMCA Fastshafts All-Star Invitational. Votes will be counted until August and you can vote once per day. There is over 60 drivers on the ballot with the top 10 being invited to compete in the All-Star race at this year's IMCA Supernationals in Boone, Iowa. Please do me a favor and vote at http://www.imca.com You have to vote for 10 drivers. I don't care who all your other 9 are, and you can randomly pick them so they don't get the same votes daily! =) But please vote for my long time bud, Dan Fitzgerald! He's a good guy, a great racer, and too boot a Teacher! So please help do me the favor and vote for him and please vote daily!
Life is a RACE, how you choose to journay by or live life makes a big difference! As most of you all know there have been many many obstacles and struggles through the years, and in our early years of marriage, we have had to over come lot together. But truly it was in our hands! Ours as the Driver and Our Crew Chief's. Let me introduce you to our Crew Chief ~ God/ Lord, Jesus Christ. You can stick it out and learn from each trial, and come out stronger, or you can throw in the towels and give up! When you keep driving, and you know it's hard, it gets tighter and tighter and harder to handle, but you are the driver, you make the choice do you pull off and give up or do you stay in the race? You pit and make your changes, Do you listen to the Crew Chief, or do you do it on your own? Somethings you we choose to do will make it tighter, and some things will make itbetter, either way you have to keep going! Keep Driving! But the point is, when you are living right. and doing what is the right thing, and following the #1 Crew Chief in the World, in the long run, you will come out on top! I sit here reflecting on my race, our race together, and our race as a family! WOW! You know I don't know many folks that would have kept fighting through those tight hard to handle ill driving no turning times that we have, but you see we did and now we are charging to the front!!!! The old Patty is BACK!!!! WOO HOOO!!!!!! =) Can yall tell? hehehehe!!! Let's go racing my friends? =) hint hint!!! We have done some real goal planning, outlinning what we want and what we are going to do. We have finally getting what we want!!! We are joined together in faith, serving under one Crew Chief, We have our family, we have our dream home, the motorcycle will be coming back home (Thank God and Andrew for that), and our family is going dirt trackin'! Just the way I grew up, and I think I turned out pretty fine! James will be getting his first real dirt car for 2008 Season! We are making plans, getting things, and etc... starting now! I can't believe it! We are going racing!!! But see it's really not if you win or lose, it's how we run the race, it's the family time, it's us ~ we are doing it together! It's the time we spend building the car, going to the races, it's the heartache, tears and joy, it's the blood and sweat, it's the pain and the gain, it's the fun and reward, it's the togetherness, it's our way, our team! And we only get this opprotunity because we serve the most Awesome God! We get to teach Lil E all the things she needs to know about running her race, to be determined, dedicated, faithful, hard working, not giving up, good sportsmanship, to do what is right, team work, family, and most importantly that all is only possible if you have God with you! So with or without the race car this really applies. Life is a race and you get to choose how you live it!! Live for God, and you'll run the BEST race!!! Remember win or lose, it's how you run the race that really matters.... btw, can you get a hint to team colors. =)
